If you’re a beauty junkie, then you have heard about Korean skin-care.
The techniques have been around for decades, but they have hit the mainstream like an explosion in the last couple years.
The amount of information out there can be overwhelming, so we thought we’d make a foolproof guide to Korean skincare that you can adjust to fit your lifestyle and preferences!
First, let’s talk cleansing. Korean skincare shies away from drying, stripping cleansers that remove all the natural oil from your skin. Instead, you should be using a gentle natural cleanser, like micellar water.
Some experts even recommend just using warm and then cold water only, to gently clean your pores out, and then shrink them while you rinse.
After you cleanse, you should use a natural toner to remove any further impurities while preserving your skin’s natural glow.
Next, luxuriate under a sheet mask. There are so many kinds, and nothing says luxury like enjoying 20 minutes of meditation under a cooling, soothing sheet mask.
After the sheet mask comes the serum. Now, there are literally THOUSANDS of choices out there. We recommend finding small free or cheap samples of serums that you think will work for you, and only commit to one when you know you love it!
After the serum, the moisturizer. Again, Korean skincare will tell you to get something natural and non-clogging. Don’t commit to any one moisturizer until you know it works for you.
After moisturizer—SUNSCREEN!! We cannot stress this highly enough! Everyone wants a natural glow, but turn to bronzers instead of risking sun damage.
Most of all—make sure to choose what works for you! The experts have advice, but you are the expert on your own skin!! Treat it like you love it, and it will love you back!
