This is a hard truth. One I don’t like facing one that I don’t want to be true.
And that’s this: If you get a pixie cut, you’re narrowing your options when it comes to men.
I know this doesn’t apply to all women. Some women are married and know their husband won’t leave them if they cut their hair. Some women are attracted to women and there are women who simply don’t care about attraction attracting men.
To these women, I say go for it. There’s nothing that feels better than having short hair, plus you get a ton of coffee compliments from other women. Not to mention I think a pixie cut is flattering to all face shapes. It makes you look stylish. Modern. And in my opinion, feminine.
But if you’re a lady like me and you’re trying to find a man, then my advice is don’t cut your hair too short
I found this out the hard way. I was at a wig party where everybody wore wigs. I had on a long amber wig on covering my pixie cut.
I hit it off with a guy. He was super good looking. We chatted, and he got my number. Then my wig fell off. And his face fell.
The next day he texted me, saying he wasn’t interested in women with short hair.
Now, you can blame that guy and say he’s a jerk. But I don’t think that’s fair. We all have our preferences. I personally don’t like men with long hair. I won’t even consider them. So I can’t blame Mr.I-Only-Like-Long-Haired-Ladies.
I’ve grown out my hair since then. It’s still not long-long, but I’ve noticed, that empirically, I get more attention from men.
I’ve also had boyfriends say “don’t cut your hair, please grow your hair out.”
There is an odd guy who likes a woman with short hair. Sometimes these men who like short hair and women are the best, the most masculine of men. I love these men.
But still, as long as you’re on the market, I’d say, keeping your hair on short hair will repel more men than it attracts and the ones who are attracted shorthair aren’t gonna stop liking you just because you have long hair.
